Touhou Puppet Play Version 1.812 - English Wiki |
Touhou Ningyougeki (東方人形劇, lit. "Touhou Puppet Play"), commonly localized to Touhoumon, is a series of ROM Hacks and Fan Games that modify various Pokémon games into a Touhou-esque theme, where you can capture and battle with Puppets that represent the various Touhou characters. The primary ones, released by the developer HemoglobinA1C, are a series of Pokémon FireRed ROM hacks. Though Hemo would go on to form FocasLens, which would develop the spiritual successor to the Touhou Puppet Play ROM hacks, known as Gensou Ningyou Enbu, localized in the west as Touhou Puppet Dance Performance, there are still derivatives of the initial ROM Hack series that exist and continue to be made to date. This wiki documents the various aspects and games associated with the 1.8 Generation of Touhou Puppet Play. The 1.8 Generation varies strongly from the 1.5 Generation in numerous ways, most notably the inclusion of the Diamond and Pearl Skill Split System, also known as the Physical/Special Split introduced in the fourth generation of the Pokémon games. In conjunction with that, the 1.8 Generation also radically altered the Type Chart, in both the types that exist as well as their interactions. Furthermore, all Puppets have a more streamlined evolution system, where things start off in their Chibi state, and then branch off into different forms based on either traditional leveling, or through the use of Shards, which are functionally the same as Evolution Stones. The types of Evolutionary Forms a Puppet can take usually fall into one of the following categories: Attack Forms, Defense Forms, Speed Forms, Technical Forms, Helper Forms, or Advent Forms. Some Puppets have special one-off forms that they evolve to either via Trade Evolution or the Chrome Shard introduced in Touhoumon Purple. This type of evolution system would serve as the predecessor of the Style Change system in the successor, Gensou Ningyou Enbu. Recent News
